Pink Floyd – Dark Side of the Moon

I’m not really a Pink Floyd fan, they have some really good songs and their albums are a staple in most rock fans CD collections, but I’ve never really been able to get past the psychedelic aspect of their music.
Now, after reading that you’re probably asking why I even bought this album, well, the reason I bought was because I wanted to watch the Wizard of Oz while I listened to it. You know what I’m talking about right? Where you start the movie and on the third lions roar you hit play on the CD player and the movie and album are supposed to be in sync. The only thing is the movie is much longer than the CD so I don’t know if you’re supposed to have the album on repeat or not.
Alright, let’s talk about the album a little bit. I think out of all the Pink Floyd album I’ve heard that Dark Side of the Moon is the best, in my opinion, the trippy psychedelic thing that is prevalent in most of their music isn’t as dominant in this album, it’s pretty much just straight up rock music. There are a few songs that tend to drag on but for the most part it’s flows through and keeps me interested enough to listen to the next song, even though I know what the next song is.
Overall, I guess, it boils down to what you like, with all legendary bands there’s very little middle ground when it come to their fan base, people either like them or they don’t. But they must’ve done something right or they wouldn’t be one of the most well known bands in the world today.
