Charlotte and Magon – Love Happening
Charlotte and Magon is an unlikely duo that found life and love through the internet, Charlotte is from France and Magon is from Israel, they met online and after talking online Magon invited Charlotte to Israel to make music, soon after they fell in love. Their debut album is called Love Happening, I think that a fitting title considering the circumstances surrounding the making of the album. And it is the best description of the albums content.
Love Happening isn’t what I usually listen to and I almost passed on reviewing the album, I’m glad I didn’t. The album is very good, it’s put together really well and Charlotte’s voice ranges from angelic whisper to soulful seductress, it’s absolutely gorgeous. The album is soft and sometimes a little offbeat, and it was easy to listen to, everything was smooth and sensual, like silk sheets sliding from the bed, it’s a love story that starts with the meeting and ends with a separation and all the things in between that makes being in love so spectacular and gut wrenching.
My only complaint is that it’s not an album I would listen to a lot; I would have to be in the mood to listen to love songs before I would pick the CD up again to just sit and listen to it. But it IS a great album and worth listening to, it would be great for a date at home with diner and wine and Love Happening playing in the background.
